After becoming Aphasic, I stopped reading aloud. Too upsetting to hear myself stumble thru words that before had flowed effortlessly. Reading silently was a struggle also, as I read as I spoke.
As soon as I read that reading aloud could help I began. To read a complete sentense aloud was frustrating. Some days now I am able to read two paragraphs straight thru. I practice reading aloud several times a day….. My speaking had improved. I am more confident.
